Pastor Mathews Varghese
Senior Pastor
Dr. Mathews Varghese is the lead pastor of the church. He was born in Kerala, India. After his early education he moved to north India and completed his college education from Bhopal. He completed his Bachelor’s in Divinity Studies from Southern Asia Bible College and a Masters in Theology degree from Asia Theological Seminary Manila, Philippines. In addition, he also holds a Doctor of Ministry degree. Mathews has been a missionary in North India since 1981 and has been instrumental in planting Good News Center and Church, Bhopal. He has developed and mentored the various ministers associated with the church. He loves to preach and teach the word of God. He is married to Daisy and they have two children Ashish and Asha, both of whom are married.
Associate Pastor
Subhash C.G. joined the team in 2000. Subash is the senior associate pastor and takes care of the day to day functioning of the church and leads various programs. He completed his schooling in Kerala, India. He has a Bachelor of Divinity from New Theological College and also completed a Master’s in Leadership degree. He is married to Prabhamol who works as a nurse in Bhopal. They have a son and two daughters, Nathan, Naomi and Sarah.
Associate Pastor
Sunil Mathew is another active member of the pastoral leadership team. After his initial education from Kerala he moved to north India for Christian ministry and held several ministry positions. He continued his theological studies and obtained the Bachelor of Divinity degree in Theology from New Theological College, Dehradun. He is a talented musician, preacher and teacher. He is married to Shiji and they have a son Jerome who is a high school student.
Associate Pastor
Melvin Lazar is part of the pastoral leadership team. He did his schooling from Kerala and came to Dehradun, Uttarakhand to pursue his theological studies. He completed his Bachelor of Rheology and Bachelor of Divinity from New Theological College. He worked as a missionary and teacher in Madhya Pradesh for several years after his initial theological studies. He also completed a Masters in Theology from Senate of Serampore. Melvin leads our leadership development programs and also takes care of one of the branch churches in Bhopal. He is married to Jancy and they have two daughters Junia and Judith.
