WHAT WE BELIEVE.

Rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus, our Statement of Faith reflects what we believe and why we live with hope.

Statement of Faith

Good News Centre & Church

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21)

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His deity, His sinless life, miracles, His vicarious and atoning sacrificial death, His resurrection, His ascension and intercession, and His second coming.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person in the Godhead, our counselor and helper. The Holy Spirit came to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit or being filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5, 2:9) is not an exclusive apostolic experience; it is available for every believer who earnestly desires it (Acts 2:39; 1Cor.14: 1; Eph. 5:18).

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered in the church. (Matt, 28:18-20; Acts 2:41,42; Rom. 6:3-5)

We believe in the universal Church, living spiritual bodies of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members.  We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. (Matt. 16:16-18; Acts 2:38-41; Eph. 2:19-22; Eph. 5:25-27)

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal blessedness of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked. (Rev. 20:1-15; Matt. 25: 31-46)
